Back in 1970 Robin released his solo album “Robin’s Reign”. But the last few years have definitely been Mr. Gibb’s Reign!
Besides working on his own music, doing interviews and performing concerts. Robin wrote and recorded a song in tribute to the late DJ Alan Freeman which became available for download in May of 2008.
Robin has been working with new young artists. He recorded a version of the Bee Gee song “First of May” with the operatic pop quartet “G4″ which was released on G4’s Cd on December 19, 2005. In January 2006 Liz McClarnon released her debut solo single “Woman In Love” which Robin co-produced. Robin joined the young pop band US5 on the Bee Gees #1 hit from 1978 “Too Much Heaven” which was released in November 2007. He also appeared in the video which was filmed in Berlin. Robin also worked with Russian singer Valeriya singing backing vocals on the Bee Gees 1977 hit “Stayin’ Alive”. The album was released March 2008 in Russia and is scheduled for release in the UK this summer.
As if all of this does not keep Robin busy enough. He still finds time for charity work and to promote artists. In June 2007 Robin was unanimously elected as President of the CISAC (the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers). The Heritage Foundation elected Robin Gibb as the Annual President for 2008. And it has just been announced that Robin Gibb has become the Outward Bound Trust’s first Ambassador.
With how busy Robin keeps it will be hard to keep up in this blog!
