The 90’s saw the Bee Gees begin to get the recognition they deserve.
In June of 1994 the Bee Gees were inducted into the “Songwriters Hall of Fame”.
In 1995 they were inducted into “Florida’s Artists Hall of Fame”.
1997 saw Robin, Maurice and Barry inducted into the “Rock And Roll Hall of Fame”, the “ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Hall of Fame”. That same year they received a special award for “Outstanding Contribution to British Music” at the BRIT Awards. The “International Artists Award” and the “Life Achievement Award” at the American Music Awards, the “Golden Europa Award”, and the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the World Music Awards.
The Isle of Man Post Office recognized the boys in October of 1999 when they unveiled a set of 6 stamps to honor their native sons’ music.
At the Grammy Awards in 2000 they received the “Lifetime Achievement Award”.
In 2001 they were inducted into the “Vocal Group Hall of Fame”.
In 2002 Robin, Maurice and Barry were featured on the Queen’s New Years Honour List, being awarded CBE’s (Commander of the British Empire) for their contribution to British music. In May 2004 Robin and Barry collected their awards, while Maurice’s son, Adam collected for his late father.
The Grammy Awards recognized them again in 2003 with the “Legend Award”.
2004 saw them inducted into the “Dance Music Hall of Fame”. And on May 12 Robin and Barry received an Honorary Doctorate in Music from Manchester University. Later that same day, at the Oakwood High School in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy, they attended the opening of the “Maurice Gibb Recording Studio”.
2005 they were inducted into the “London’s Walk of Fame”.
And on May 15, 2007 at the BMI Pop Awards the Bee Gees were named “BMI Icons”.
The Music World was finally acknowledging what the fans knew all along.
