20. “My Favorite Carols.” (CD) This is the first Christmas album from Robin Gibb. Though the Bee Gees recorded many albums over the years, they never recorded a Christmas album. Robin’s voice adds a special touch to old favorites such as “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Silent Night”, “Away In A Manger” and “In The Bleak Midwinter”. Not to be missed is Robin’s version of “Noel”. My four year old grand daughter walks around singing “Say the children of the world, No war, No war. We are the saviors and love is the cure. No war. No war. The children cry. We are the saviors with love on our side.”
Included with the CD is a bonus DVD “Making The Christmas Album from Dublin”. Some of the beautiful scenic pictures of the Dublin area is shown. And we get a look at Robin recording some of the carols. Robin speaks about his childhoood. About memories of the carols his mother would sing. Memories of the carols he sang in school. Robin talk about how Christmas has become about the present when it should be about the feeling. I could listen to this DVD all day just so I can hear Robin’s accent. He has such a beautiful, sexy speaking voice.
